T-Shirt: That stuns’em real good

April 23, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

There’s a fresh set of tee designs up on Gimmick Tees today. Without even getting into the Star Trek versus Star Wars debates – I rather like the cheeky factor in this design.

Today Only: May the Fez be with you

April 22, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Today’s RIPT Apparel design is a Star Wars / Doctor Who mashup and worthy of some attention. It’s not just t-shirts that the design comes in but iPhone cases, hoodies, coasters and robots. Okay, perhaps not robots.

It’s a trap…

April 10, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

You’d expect this post to feature Admiral Ackbar. He owns “It’s a trap”. What sort of trap, though? That’s the question. This t-shirt even comes with a backstory. The government doesn’t pay very much out in pensions anymore – especially after you’ve just overthrown it. A Mon Calamari needs to eat, needs to earn some […]

These two alternative Star Wars posters are the creation of Dirty Great Pixels. Like what you see? Good news; both are for sale via etsy along with a range of other alternative movie and gaming posters.

I find your lack of towel disturbing

April 4, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This fantastic tee design by Jayveezed is available from Redbubble (£18) and mashes The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy with Star Wars. The result is superb. “I find your lack of towel disturbing” This slogan is deeply geeky because it expertly mashes up two iconic phrases and universes. “I find your lack of faith disturbing” […]

These two sketches come via the Rotofugi toy store. Rotofugi specialise in unique, rare and geeky toys. Rotofugi find time to promote not just established artists but up-and-coming ones two. These two demonic Star Wars sketches come from a gallery of work from Japanese & Japanese-American Artists that ran in the beginning of 2012.

Yoda takes on the Xenomorphs

April 3, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Who’s going to win this fight? Yoda or those aliens? This piece is by Toby Carr who said he wanted to do something sci-fi for a change. Let’s hope he does sci-fi more often!

Dramatic Star Wars glass coasters

April 2, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

I rather like this glass coasters from Entertainment Earth. These Star Wars images manage to cross the line from fanboy to art. Not only that; these feel like high impact art. Interesting art is perfect for the coffee table in the living room as it gives people something to talk about. I think these coasters […]

Boba Fett stained glass

April 2, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This remarkable piece of art was created by Michael McLane. It shows the ever popular bounty hunter, Boba Fett, in stained glass. I always associate churches with stained glass and can only imagine what sort of church a display like this would be part of.

Lucasarts & Dark Horse to publish The Star Wars

April 1, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

It’s April Fools’ Day and therefore understandable that people are treating this news with cautious – but many news outlets are reporting that Lacasarts and Dark Horse will publish The Star Wars. Bleeding Cool has the same news but Rich Johnston’s write up was published yesterday. Let’s go with this as being real. Back in […]
