Ammonite fossil skull

This skull, some 9.6 inches long, is carved from an Ammonite fossil. In India the skulls are associated with the God Vishnu and are used in various ceremonies. Circuit board fossils

These are rather awesome. They are circuit board fossils by the mixed media artist Peter McFarlane. He’s successful and talented enough to have a presence over at Saatchi Online. For me, it’s the contrast between the old/the fossil and the new/the circuit board that makes this work stand out so cleverly.
