Dangerously good! Annie and Tibbers from League of Legends

April 14, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Annie Hastur, yes Hastur (don’t ask me to write it a third time) is a dark child. In fact, Annie is a mage champion from League of Legends. She spends most of her time flinging fire and with her pyromania ability every four spells ensures her next offensive cast will stun all damaged enemies for […]

Cosplayer Lopti is an aspiring model and great cosplayer. She’s an affinity for blue characters; hence the name Some Like it Blue. These Mystique cosplay pictures show just how well Lopti can go blue. They’re from her Facebook profile and photography is by Siffy of The Sisters Mischief.

Squeeze me? Evil-Lyn cosplay

April 9, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood 2 Comments

As a boy of a certain age – Evil-Lyn was one of my favourite He-Man characters. Reasons. This cosplay does the character justice. After all, if your cosplay alias is EvilLyn13 you really need to go to town on the design. This cosplay is all set of Emerald City Comic Con, Vancouver Fan Expo and […]

The Brooklyn alien

April 8, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This is the creation of professional cosplayer Peter Kokis and it’s impressive. Kokis builds his costumes from every day objects, tons of skill and vision and the result is impressive. There’s more pictures of this cosplay over at its own website. Via Technabob.

Real life Umbreon cosplay

April 6, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

I’m not sure I agree with dressing pets up… but I’ll certainly accept that this Pokemon cosplay looks awesome. Deviant Artist Leafeon-Ex says her dog is a good sport and didn’t mind dressing up as Umbreon and that’s a bonus.

Steampunk Stormtrooper cosplay

March 29, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Not your usual Stormtrooper? A first time cosplayer was inspired by the steampunk Star Wars works of Bjorn Hurri. I understand why! Hurri’s art is fantastic and has been featured on Geek Native before. This is the piece that the cosplay is based on, I think. Via Fashionably Geek.

Cosplay: A Happy Parody

March 27, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This is good. Even this geek has heard Pharrell Williams’ Happy. This a parody sung by Charmie Sweets and I think she does really well. On top of that we’ve a whole bunch of cosplayers having fun in front of the camera and dancing along for us.

Incredible Gaslight Gathering 3 photographs

March 25, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood 2 Comments

These photographs are stunning as are the costumes on display. The photographer is Derick Tortorella (aka Mr Muggles) and you can see more in his Flickr Set. The event this was taken at was Gaslight Gathering 3 which ran last year. Gaslight Gathering 4 is a steampunk and Victoriana convention that’ll run at the Town […]

Diablo: The Evil Prime cosplay glows with dark intelligence

March 24, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood 1 Comment

How’s this for a Diablo III tribute? I’m so impressed by Krizdel Ingreso’s cosplay. She made this herself. All of it. The design, the structure, the point job and even the electronics to make it glow. Photography credits to Jannibee Buhat, Pefdgraphy & Elijah Alcantara.

Cosplay highlights from London Super Comic Con 2014

March 23, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood 1 Comment

Sneaky Zebra make a great cosplay video. Hard to tell them apart? In this video watch for a few special effects such as the Captain America shield, my favourite, and some sweeping camera movements. It looks like Excel in London is a good venue too. It’s not so crowded you can barely move.
