The Man from U.N.C.L.E. trailer

February 12, 2015 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Guy Richie is making a The Man from U.N.C.L.E. movie. Expect loads of 60s kitsch as well as Armie Hammer and Superman’s Henry Cavill. Cavill is Napoleoan Solo and, of course, Armie Hammer is Illya Kuryakin while Hugh Grant steps into the role as Waverly. IMDB suggests David Beckham may even appear. Oh dear.

Star Wars battles Star Trek

February 12, 2015 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Forget the pointless “Which is better” arguments and instead imagine what it would be like if the Empire attacked the Federation. It would be harsh. There would be many dramatic moments. You’d have to reach into some cinematic games in order to complete your impressive fan made trailer.

Netflix’s Daredevil trailer

February 12, 2015 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This trailer popped up online while I was out of the country a week ago. In that time it’s had over 1,000,000 watches. This suggests Netflix is on to a winner with its set of four superhero series. Daredevil, perhaps because of the movie rather than despite it, may be the strongest of the titles. […]

Short film: Confusion Through Sand

Watch through the first few seconds of “what’s going on…” and you’ll soon find yourself in a pretty intense animation. Hand drawn and wonderfully produced by Ornana Films. Confusion Through Sand manages to ramp up the tempo with just a few sounds and powerful storytelling. This is one of those animations that you’ll find yourself […]

Those sneaky princesses and dragons…

February 11, 2015 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

A great comic strip from Port Sherry. I imagine such a scene is all too possible in quite a few RPGs. (Via Geeks are Sexy)

Game of Quests applies RPG wisdom to fitness

February 11, 2015 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

I’ve a Fitbit in my pocket. It tells me that I’m pear shaped not because I spend too much time on the computer but because my calorie intake is too high. My version of the Fitbit doesn’t come with mind control and so we reach a stalemate. Game of Quests, launched on Indiegogo on flexible […]

Task Force H.A.T. rewards players for puns

Tim Obermueller is asking for just $1,000 to fund Task Force H.A.T. (Heroes Against Tyranny) an action RPG that turns puns into points. More details available at the Campaign page. [Back this Campaign] Tim is more than halfway to funding with more than 20 days left. This is a good sign. The game is based […]

February 10, 2015 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Today Geek Native and over 600 other members of the RPGBA discovered that the community would close. The RPG Blog Alliance came about after RPGbloggers.com changed hands and delays began to mount. Bonemaster, aka Jeff Brissette, thought there was a better way to bring RPG blogs into a community and help share their content. Writing […]
