You’ve seen Kickstarters for RPG dice before. Geek Native has covered many of them. Kraken Dice’s Kickstarter is different. At the time of writing, it has nearly $700,000 in the pot and a whole day left to run. You can check it out for yourself and check it’s true.

Unless there’s a howling disaster, this Kickstarter will fund! $10 will get dice set. That’s good value. Is that the reason Kraken has the all-time highest funding dice Kickstarter on their hands?
Step up to $40 and you’ll get 30 dice. Some people have pledged thousands of dollars.
There are some fancy add-ons including some gear from Dog Might who have had a success with their own Kickstarter (I’m a backer).
Googling, I can see that Kraken did a good job lining up interest before launching their Kickstarter. There was blog and vlog coverage before the campaign went live. Nevertheless, this is a runaway smash hit for the company and, if all goes well, will set them up nicely for the future.
