Saul Bass was an American designer who worked for Alfred Hitchcock. He invented a new type of kinetic typography and put it to work on title sequences for moves like North by Northwest, Vertigo and Psycho.
Skip ahead to more recent times and you’ll see sequences inspired by his style in the likes of Catch Me If You Can, X-Men: First Class and, of course, AMC’s Mad Men.
This is Milan Vuckovic’s homage to both Game of Thrones and Saul Bass. The music sounds 60s and Game of Thrones at the same time. In fact it’s Scott Bradlee’s work which features Dave Koz.
You can see more of Vuckovic’s own transformations at his website.
