At the time of posting, the Kickstarter campaign for Fuel, the world’s smallest smartphone charger, has 18 days to go and has raised more than twice the $20,000 they asked for.
Technology wise this campaign just makes sense and it’s a surprise to see big players aren’t already in this space. My new phone, an HTC One, still stuck in the delay cycle, will be my first sealed phone since my iPhone and a worry – a lot – about the battery life. Having a fuel can on my keyring feels like a no brainer.
The pledge structure to this campaign is interesting too. There really feel like to two tiers; support (and pay) in principle or buy. Was that wise? It worked though. It’s worth noting how low the out of US shipping is. I guess that’s a reflection of the tiny size of the device.
