The trailer for creature feature comedy horror Don’t Move has dropped from Impractical Studios, and with a prehistoric giant spider terrorising a church group on an Ozark retreat, it looks like it’s going to be lots of fun.
For clarity, this is a very different Don’t Move to the one currently on Netflix – although both feature predators that have the ability to paralyse their subjects, just in very different ways! Think I prefer the spider.
According to the official synopsis:
A church group’s Ozark retreat becomes a fight for survival when a, vibration-sensing prehistoric arachnid hunts them. As the group is stranded, they must stay perfectly still to avoid the creature in a desperate escape attempt led by Megan.
This is a creature that hunts through vibration, and as the group gradually gets picked off one by one in the woods, they have to find a way to survive. It’s got a hint of Predator-type action to it – or, y’know, the more obvious Arachnaphobia reference, but darker and perhaps with quirkier humour.
I also love the choice of playing I Think We’re Alone Now in the trailer, and the fact they’re keeping the spider fairly under wraps for now; you don’t get to see much of as yet, but you get enough of a tease to know it’s going to be fairly epic.

And, if you’re in the United States, you’ll be able to watch Don’t Move when it hits select US theatres on 11th September. Not in the US? Stay tuned, as I can see this one hitting somewhere like Shudder at the very least.
