Paramount has just dropped the second trailer for Street Fighter, and we’ve got to say, its perfect ’90s arcade vibe mean it’s shaping up to be the movie adaptation fans have been longing for when it comes to seeing the iconic game characters on the big screen.
Directed by Kitao Sakurai, the movie’s tone seems to embrace that of the game perfectly, with so much clearly taken from the source material. The characters look flawless, the fight scenes look tight, and it feels like this is everything we’d want to see from Street Fighter. More than that, it also looks fun.
According to the official description:
Set in 1993, estranged Street Fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury.
But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past. And if they don’t, it’s GAME OVER!

Bison, alongside Joe Anoa’i as Akuma.

Wowzers, that’s an all-star cast I’m sure we can get excited for! And you’ll be able to watch Street Fighter when it hits cinemas on 16th October.
But, if you can’t wait until then, you can also see me taking on some custom character Street Fighter roles when I reviewed the Street Fighter makeup collection by Game Beauty (because I’m awesome like that, and you’re welcome).
