The trailer’s just dropped for psychological horror Exit 8, based on the indie video game The Exit 8 – and it looks like it’s going to be an unsettling but wild ride.
There’s something about subways – especially empty ones – that always seem to have the capacity for unease – or maybe that’s just me and the content I’ve chosen to consume over the years (Creep anybody?)
The film focuses on feelings of displacement and confusion in seemingly endless corridors, and paying attention to things that seem… wrong. Anomalies.
According to the official description:
The rules of [the] quest are simple: do not overlook anything out of the ordinary. If you discover an anomaly, turn back immediately. If you don’t, carry on. Then leave from Exit 8. But even a single oversight will send him back to the beginning. Will he ever reach his goal and escape this infinite corridor?

Directed by Genki Kawamura, Exit 8 premiered at the Cannes Film Festival before going on to screen at the Toronto International Film Festival, Sitges Film Festival, and the Busan International Film Festival – proving to be quite a hit with audiences so far.
The film – based on a game that makes players second guess their own perceptions – stars Kazunari Ninomiya, Yamato Kochi, Naru Asanuma, Kotone Hanase, and Nana Komatsu.
And you’ll be able to watch Exit 8 when it’s released in cinemas on 10th April. I’m already excited!
