With Halloween fast approaching, Bundle of Holding has launched a timely TTRPG offer for those who prefer their horror with a touch of melancholy gloom. The new “Ghastly” bundle features Ghastly Affair, a tabletop roleplaying game of gothic and romantic horror.
The bundle’s theme is a clear nod to the artist Edward Gorey, whose macabre and whimsical illustrations in works like The Gashlycrumb Tinies set the intended tone. This is not a game of modern jump-scares, but one of melancholy dread, dark romance, and societal decay set in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
The Ghastly bundle is available for a limited time. As with most Bundle of Holding offers, the PDF files are delivered via partner DriveThruRPG.

The deal is structured as a single-tier offer. For $9.95, customers receive the entire collection of 10 digital titles, which hold a combined retail value of $40.

The game is set in the “Ghastly Age” of 1765-1820, putting players in the decadent and disastrous era of Marie-Antoinette, Napoleon, and Lord Byron. The rules are presented as a modern take on old-school roleplaying, using a d20-under-ability roll for resolution. Character classes embrace classic gothic tropes, including the Bandit, the Grave Robber, and the True Innocent.
The supplements expand the game, with Gothic Icons providing statistics for figures from gothic literature and history, such as the Marquis de Sade. At the same time, Castles, Mansions, & Estates helps Game Masters design suitable locations for dark romance and chilling horror.
