Trinity CineAsia has confirmed it will give the anime feature Detective Conan: One-Eyed Flashback a full theatrical release in the UK and Ireland.

The movie is slated to open in cinemas on Friday, 26th September 2025.
This is the 28th film in the hugely popular Detective Conan franchise and marks only the second time one of its features has received a theatrical run in the UK. The first was Detective Conan: The Million-Dollar Pentagram, released by Trinity CineAsia in September 2024 to a positive fan reception. One-Eyed Flashback has already seen tremendous success in its native Japan, becoming the second-highest-grossing film of the year at the box office.
The story is set in the snowy Nagano Prefecture and follows police officers Kansuke Yamato and Yui Uehara as they investigate an attack on a researcher at an observatory. The case triggers a strange discomfort for Kansuke in an eye he injured during an avalanche ten months prior. At the same time, the famous private detective Kogoro Mouri receives a call from a former colleague investigating that same avalanche, only for the colleague to be assassinated before he can reveal his findings. As Kogoro and the shrunken-down detective Conan Edogawa begin separate investigations, they uncover links to an eight-year-old robbery, putting them on a collision course with a killer in the Yatsugatake Mountains.
The film franchise, known as Case Closed in the US, is based on the long-running manga by Gosho Aoyama, which began in 1994. The animated TV series has broadcast over 1,100 episodes. Katsuya Shigehara directs this latest instalment and welcomes the return of three fan-favourite characters from the manga: Inspector Kansuke Yamato, Taka’aki Morofushi, and Yui Uehara.
Cedric Behrel, managing director of Trinity CineAsia, noted the success of their previous release and their future commitment to the franchise. In a statement, he said,
Our engagement with the UK’s cultural symbols – including a campaign in collaboration with the Sherlock Holmes Museum – was met with an overwhelmingly positive response from fans. We aim to further grow Trinity CineAsia’s diverse animation audience by bringing the latest Detective Conan feature to the big screen each year, with the same passion and commitment.”

The film will be shown in Japanese with English and Traditional Chinese subtitles and is expected to have a 15 rating.
