I’m a big fan of the synthwave and geeky Gunship, and that means I’m a fan of their brilliant Tech Noir.
Today, the brand released Tech Noir 2, and it’s a tricky sequel. I don’t rate it as highly, but you can watch for yourself.
The claymation takes Penny (and I’m reminded of Penny from Inspector Gadget) into a DOOM world where she must confront many foes. If Labyrinth had a mutant king stealing babies and an 80s computer game for a setting, then it would be a bit like this.
It might be the only time I’ve been pleased to see a Tamagotchi.
Currently, the view is up at 36K views (in six hours) and 8K thumbs up. That’s not an excellent ratio, but the thumbs down icon on YouTube isn’t getting a look in.
Importantly, for me at least, they’ve got John Carpenter‘s voice back.

Creating the Tech Noir 2 music video has been a long and winding road. We’d like to extend our thanks to Lee Hardcastle for pouring his heart and soul into the project. We got deep into the trenches ourselves on this one and burned the candle to the stump on the post-production side. We’re proud of what we accomplished together, and we hope you guys enjoy this continuation of the story from Tech Noir 1.
