The Forbidden Psalm series of games by WIRD Designs is a big hit. The hardbacks are sold out in most places, and even Zatu has them on backorder.
So, when Will Rahman and WIRD pop back up on Kickstarter with a new one, people notice. This time, we’ve Hope for the Dead, and you are trying to survive for two years. It’s a skirmish game played with 28mm minis and compatible with the tabletop RPG MORK BORG.
The concept of the Forbidden Psalm games is that you can scoop up any assortment of in-theme minis you have a few rules to turn a tabletop area into a skirmish area.
In Hope for the Dead, the baddies are zombies, and so the rules for Noise, Infections and rather than equip your squad of survivors with weapons, you must scavenge for items.
You don’t need any other games to play, not even Forbidden Psalm, but if you have MORK BORG, you can import characters from it into these desperate fights against zombies.
HOPE IS FOR THE DEAD is a game of surviving the end of the world, a miniature skirmish game of scavenging, killing zombies, and building your very own Haven. A deadly virus found in the deep frozen lakes of Antarctica was the source of the first outbreak, and soon after the virus spread across the world. How long will your Haven last?
The virus known as the Weeping Death makes its host create excessive vitreous humours that turn black and leak out of the eyes and mouths of its victim. As the virus spreads in the host, it mutates them to create more and more diseased and blackened vitreous humours.
