RPG and board game developers, Beyond the Veil publishers, Wrenegade Studios are running a five-minute* RPG survey.
(* It’s longer)
The results of the survey are going to be emailed out to those who took part. The project, though, is for Wrenegade’s internal use. They say;
Our primary goal is to enhance our understanding of the TTRPG community and utilise these insights to develop engaging games for all players. Rest assured, any data collected will be treated with the utmost confidentiality and will not be shared or sold to any third parties.
However, the summary will be made public. Wrenegade note;
Furthermore, we are committed to transparency and sharing the results of this survey. The findings will be made publicly available on our blog, ensuring that you and others can access and benefit from the collective knowledge within the TTRPG community.
The survey, which is open now, uses Google Forms, so it knows your email if you’re logged in, but Google’s systems note your ID will not be shared.
This blogger took part and answered a question on gender which had a non-binary option, age, location, age, and how many people are part of my gaming group.
Wrenegade wants to know whether you do VTTs (and which), whether you game in person, the genre you play, how often you do it and how long sessions last.
Wrenegade asks what you like and what your current game might be missing. The commercial intent here is clear but perhaps not unwelcome.
In truth, I think there are more than five minutes worth of questions, but it’s interesting to see where the publisher’s questions and concerns are. AI, for example, has plenty of focus.
