Die Hard, James Bond, John Wick and Kingsman are movies where the heroes are outnumbered and outgunned but always awesome.
It’s that vibe that the award-winning team of Riccardo Sirginano, Simone Formicola and Daniela Giubellini are taking to Kickstarter for the tabletop RPG Outgunned. It’s a blockbuster already.
The Pay What You Want quickstart for Outgunned is a silver best seller at DriveThruRPG.
The campaign covers the Outgunned corebook of rules, weapons, enemies, character and campaign mechanics. There’s a second book, the World of Killers, a John-Wick-inspired supplement that adds an underworld setting, additional Hero roles for Hired Guns, and a full campaign for up to four players, complete with pre-made Heroes. Lastly, there’s Action Flicks, a supplement of settings and hacks.
In the core rules, characters get a Role, a Trope and take it from there. Those core rules are 200+ pages, full colour and in a 15×23 hardback. World of Killers is a little smaller, 150+ pages, but still 15x23cm. Action Flicks is PDF only.
Outgunned is powered by a set of highly cinematic game mechanics called Director’s Cut. The system uses small pools of six-sided dice to determine the outcome of all tasks that involve a risk or a danger. When rolling dice in Outgunned, your goal isn’t to roll the highest or lowest possible total, but to combine as many equal symbols as you can in pairs, three-of-a-kind, and so on.

Backers who pledge €29 or more will get PDFs of Outgunned, World of Killers, Action Flicks, the Mission Dossier: Project Medusa, Action Deck and all the digital stretch goals unlocked.
At €69, Outgunned becomes the hardcover, the other supplements and goals remain digital, but there are physical Action Dice and an “Outgunned” movie poster too.
It’s a jump to €149, but the rewards turn the World of Kilers into a hardback and the Project Medusa Mission Dossier into a booklet. There’s an Action Deck added, along with physical stretch goals.
There is a higher tier, but that’s for retailers and adds bundles of 5x to the €149 tier.
Two Little Mice, with the logistics experience to be somewhat confident, estimated delivery in March 2024.
