I was told about Howl’s Moving Castle collection from Loewe yonks ago and filed it under, “Yeah, yeah, I’ll look at it later.”
I didn’t, though, because it was high fashion. We’re talking about £500 t-shirts, and I was sure it’d be limited and sold out.
I wrong. There’s still stock (for some), and it’s incredible, but the £500 t-shirt is one of the cheaper options.
There are also dozens and dozens of designs. Bold and strong, colourful and entirely Ghibli in vibe. What an excellent homage!
Also, visit and see what happens to your mouse cursor.
As there are so many designs, here are just a few favourites.
Calcifer from Howl’s Moving Castle shirt
I’m told this is “in viscose”, and a Google tells me that’s a man-made fiber developed in the nineteenth century! I say; look-at-the-eyes!
It’s over £1,000, so I’m sure you’re eager to buy it!
Calcifer small Puzzle bag
Not viscose, but still orange, and designed by Jonathan Anderson in satin calfskin.
Look at that little fella! The cost? Oh, about £2,500.
Howl’s Moving Castle feather pyjama silk blouse
The collection isn’t all orange and isn’t all Calcifer. I just started there because sentient fire should be scary, but our little flame isn’t. These PJs are a bit of both, skirting close to dark.
What do you think? If you can splash £1,200, you try them on.
Howl’s Moving Castle boots
Calfskin again and hiking boots with hand-sewn jewels. Each pair is unique because of that hand-made touch, although the variations are kept to a minimum.
I know you’re keen to find out how much the boots cost. Do they compare to the PJs? Yes, buy these boots for £1,300.
Howl’s Moving Castle wool and alpaca blend Sky cape
I know, I know. It’s a whole cape, and there’s alpaca wool in here, so we know it’ll be expensive.
It’s also hand knitted with crystal embellishments.
I didn’t intend this post to become a boggle at the prices post, but since we’ve started, let me inform you the successful purchasers of this cape (should it ever re-stock) will pay at least £8,250.
