Fallacy Dog set out to redefine what “luxury dice” means, and the result is musical.
A Kickstarter campaign for dice with free-floating internal cores made from metal and which ring when rolled has pushed through $100,000 in funding with weeks still to run. You can see the options on offer on the pitch page.
The Arcana Core come in various metals, and only the brass set, the cheapest, that you can get for a mere $185.
Designed with 3D software, the dice are made by a team with audio and mechanical engineering skills.
As you can see, it’s not just the dice that Kickstarter offers but also some luxury accessories for them. My question is, would you ever use them?
Fallacy Dice has a long standing commitment to quality and have crafted thousands of dice over the last 3 years with a repair and replace policy if the dice are ever damaged. The dice are incredibly durable for regular use and to date, we have not been contacted for a single return.
A since brass d20 will is the reward for a pledge of $37, although you can support the project in many ways.
The larger 28mm version, 50% larger, is reserved for people who can pledge $63 or more.
Gold? Yes, they do that. A single gold placed Arcana Core d20 is a $77 backer reward.
You can see how the pledges will scale up, given the different sizes and metals.
It’s $185 (about $152) for the six-piece brass Arcana Core and $315 if you want that in the 28mm size.
For other examples of backer levels, $370 for the gold placed dice, $645 for the “uber set” of brass dice and $1,220 for the 14K pure gold d20.
Do you want a complete set of pure gold dice at 14K? That’ll cost $6,000, and someone’s gone for that tier.
The shipping estimate has been tailored so as not to disappoint; June 2023.
