Short film: Avarya – trapped on a spaceship as the robot overseer deems all planets unsafe

Gokalp Gonen‘s Avarya is a beautiful art nouveau style sci-fi in which a man is trapped on his spaceship as no planet is rated safe enough by his robot overseer.

Avarya opens with Isaac Asimov’s Three Laws of Robotics which remind us that robots must now allow humans to come to harm. This includes not following orders that may conflict with those directives.

What happens if you take that principle and apply it to finding safe harbour? What about a conflict between mental health and physical health?
