Bulldog clip monster goes rawr!

February 18, 2011 by Andrew Girdwood 4 Comments

This photograph shows what dangers can occur when someone is bored at work. After being created this bulldog clip and staple remover monster went on a rampage. Over two dozen people were badly hurt in the carnage and the beast only stopped after being distracted by a chain of paperclips.

Bubblegut the terror of cupcakes

February 15, 2011 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Chris Ryniak creates monsters and critters. He’s very good at it and I encourage folks to check out his gallery. This week he created Bubblegut. This cute little monster is expected in his store but the release date and price info isn’t yet available. Chris does warn us that Bubblegut may eat all your cupcakes.

A lovely horror Valentines

February 14, 2011 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Even monsters sometimes think about distractions other than stalking, killing and escaping. I think. Let’s take a flash back to the 50s and 60s and ask ourselves what some classic horrors might say to you this Valentine’s Day. Via Another mag.

A demon rug: doom for your floor!

January 12, 2011 by Andrew Girdwood 1 Comment

Do you know those old style hunting rugs? The ones with the hide of some mighty game beast stretched out on the floor in front of the fireplace? In most games they feature in haunted houses or belong to insane hunters who decide the ultimate is to track the human-animal. Miss Monster has a new […]

Something lurking…

December 9, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

It’s hard to imagine liking an ad for a vacuum cleaner. Sure, we’ve a modern Dyson in the flat and all that – as much of a gadget purchase as we could find – but does it really count as a true gadget? The LG Compressor does try to claim gadget status. Some of the […]

Sharkgull does not want to be your friend

October 29, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Here’s an interesting monster concept – and a fantastic piece of photo manipulation. This comes to Geek Native via Rowan Henry Hamilton who wonders what it would be like to have this beastie steal your chips at the beach. If it happened to me; I’d let him win. Have the chips.

Troll Hunter trailer

October 19, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

If I said “European film” to you – what do you start to think of? At least of a few of you now have minds in the gutter. What about if I said Norwegian film? Bare with me. Just trying to set expectations for Troll Hunter. Some of the videos uploaded by Trolljegeren to YouTube […]

Monster Muppets

October 18, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Insiders and friends of Rhys Cooper alerted me to this set of three monster muppets. Aren’t they scary? Cooper has an eye for detail and a mind fit for Hollywood! I’m informed that said works of art will soon also be for sale at this webstore and I can think of a few people who […]

Shain Erin’s impressive but freaky nightmare monster dolls

October 11, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

There’s no question that Shain Erin simply oozes talent. It takes a special doll for me to sit up, stare and think “Look at /that/!” and that’s exactly what Shain’s dolls do. These are freaks. These are nightmare monsters that would seem to have escaped from a particularly good Hellraiser movie. The dolls themselves can […]

Barratt’s Fizzoids monster sweets

October 7, 2010 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

I’ve helped myself to one or two of the new Barratt monster sweets over the last few weeks. Or has it been months? I think there are four different ones in total. Here’s my collection. Have I missed any? One note of caution. I can’t claim to have any photography skills at the best of […]
