Part TARDIS, part dalek and part dress

January 31, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood 1 Comment

Here’s cosplay worthy of Gallifrey – although the subject might worry those Time Lords. Cosplayer Bewitched Raven has created a hybrid dress, a mixture of TARDIS and dalek complete with a light from each on her headband. The photography is by CONography who, as the name suggests, specialise in convention based photography.

Mylune forest nymph World of Warcraft cosplay

January 28, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood 1 Comment

You might think a four legged nymph would be impossible to cosplay. Step up Lyz Brickley who has made it happen. This is some impressive engineering as well as fantastic cosplay.

January 24, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood 1 Comment

As it turns out Labradors can dress as dwarves. All it takes is a cleverly knitted Tolkien style hat that comes complete with lengthy beard and you have a winner! Okay, you might also need a cute and patient Labrador too. Via Reddit and Imgur.

One Mord-Sith all wrapped in leather

January 23, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Mord-Sith are strange warrior-inquisitor from Terry Goodkind’s Legend of the Seeker. I’ve not read the books but I’ve seen some of TV show and certainly recognise the leather outfit. This is great cosplay. Mordsith Cara is clearly a fan of the series and knows her stuff. This couldn’t have been cheap cosplay either. It’s more […]

Is it possible? Sexy Sonic the Hedgehog cosplay

January 19, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

I’m sometimes a bit cautious using the word “sexy” to describe cosplay but in this case cosplayer Manzinat0r is okay with it. She explains; Happy new year everyone! I recently did a shoot with my “sexy” Sonic the Hedgehog costume with the amazing Greg De Stefano! I actually made most of this costume back in […]

If you like the look of this wasteland apocalypse armour by Two Horns United then you can check out some more pictures after the video. You could also pop over to his Etsy Store and see what else is available. This isn’t entirely an one off project you see. Two Horns makes custom masks, suits […]

Award winning cardboard Robocop protests reboot

January 5, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This is some cracking cosplay by Comic Book Girl19. It shows some skilful papercraft – except, well, with cardboard and that’s not an easy material to make a costume out of! Impressively, the costume holds off against some strong competition at Comic Con and wins bet in show. This Robocop wasn’t just an exercise in […]

Get to know the cosplayers: Soni Aralynn and Thaxos

January 2, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Distractotron continue their simple but effective series “Cosplay Chronicles”. This is a chance to get to know the cosplayers and I think it slays claims of “fake geek girls” in a single clip. Soni Aralynn comes across as credible, grounded and all types of hip. As a male cosplayer Thaxos doesn’t have to deal with […]

Sexy social media cosplay

January 1, 2014 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

These cosplayers are dressed up as websites. That’s a challenge. They’ve taken that challenge and gone one better and cosplayed as sexy social media sites. The photographer is dtjaaaam. I rather like the cheeky sign Deviant Art is holding up. I think it represents the struggle and fear DA contributors have. Via Nicole Wakelin at […]
