Tiny Onion has secured a first-look deal with Blumhouse Atomic to develop intellectual property across film, television, and animation. Announced by James Tynion IV via his independent production house, the partnership expands upon existing development for the bestselling Image Comics series Exquisite Corpses and BOOM! Studios’ Something Is Killing the Children.

Under the agreement, James Tynion IV will work alongside Blumhouse Atomic and Lyrical Media to adapt Exquisite Corpses into both feature film and animation formats. Co-created by James Tynion IV and artist Michael Walsh, the dark Halloween-themed thriller has surpassed one million sales in its first eighteen months since publication. This builds on the previously announced live-action film and adult animated series adaptations of Something Is Killing the Children, which is heading into production next year with director Craig Zobel attached.
“From the moment I first stepped into the Blumhouse offices, it felt like coming home,” James Tynion IV, founder of Tiny Onion, said in a statement, “Every person in that building, and every filmmaker on their roster is dedicated to making great horror, and I’m thrilled to stand by their side and help bring these terrifying stories to life.”
The collaboration deepens ties between the independent comic creator and major horror producers. Jason Blum, CEO and Founder of Blumhouse Atomic, commented, “James has been a valued partner on Something Is Killing The Children, which is why we wanted to expand our relationship. He has great storytelling instincts with a passion for the horror genre. As we look to develop more IP, this felt like a great fit, and we’re happy to take the next step with him and Tiny Onion.”
The slate also includes development on Room Service, a short film and one-shot comic by James Tynion IV. The overarching transmedia expansion covers television, film, and tabletop gaming, following the successful Kickstarter launch of Exquisite Corpses: The Game. James Tynion IV is represented by United Talent Agency, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and TroyGould.
