Another good thing to come out of Tabletop Scotland 2026 was meeting up with Crossed Paths Press to find out what they’ve been up to recently – and that’s getting ready to launch a new game on Backerkit next month!
Covens of Midnight 2: Secrets of Wonderland is a dark fantasy tarot-based RPG following a magical student and their rival as they find their way out of an ever-warping chaotic and ever-so-slightly mad wonderland. Will they find their way out, or succumb to madness?
The game looks to have some really nice dark academia-inspired artwork, with four new covens, six new paragons who happen to be familiar Alice in Wonderland characters such as The Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat (my fave), The Caterpillar, The White Rabbit, The March Hare, and The Red Queen.
The game offers the following:
- Fully comprehensive rules for character creation, rival dynamics, and the custom mechanics that make Secrets of Wonderland unforgettable.
- Unique tarot-based mechanics that capture the surreal, twisted nature of Wonderland’s reality.
- 6 New Paragons to be your celestial guides, transformed by Wonderland’s chaos.
- 4 New Covens inspired by the four suits of playing cards.
- New Party Members, Monsters & Enemies that embody Wonderland’s beautiful, terrible madness. Every encounter is a test of sanity as much as skill.
- A Completely New Story to discover. One that challenges everything you thought you knew about Alice, about Wonderland, and about yourself.
It’s not launched yet, but you can learn more about Covens of Midnight 2: Secrets of Wonderland on the Backerkit page.
Crossed Paths have also just launched a brand spanking new website YESTERDAY (which was very nice of them), so that’s something else you can go and check out.
