The first teaser trailer for Crystal Lake has dropped from Peacock and A24, firmly setting the scene for the return of the beloved Friday the 13th franchise… and it’s about time.
Set to premiere on 15th October, Crystal Lake is a prequel series set to take us back to the very roots of where it all began, and that’s… a summer camp!
The film follows “single mother Pam Voorhees who has been unable to shake her grief after her young, sickly son Jason tragically drowned in the town lake almost a year before. When two strangers arrive at Pam’s door digging into her past, a disturbing chain of events are set into motion, leaving the townspeople of Crystal Lake wondering: just who is Pam Voorhees?”
Starring as Pamela Voorhees, we have Linda Cardellini; the bereaved mother who winds up ultimately responsible for the events of the entire franchise.
It also seems quite an intricately thought-out series that will take elements from across the franchise to weave them into a satisfying and intriguing plot – I like that.
