In a striking display of consumer confidence and speculative demand, independent South Wales retailer Loaded Dice has already sold out the top tier of its newly launched Warhammer 40,000 11th Edition campaign cards – despite Games Workshop having not yet officially confirmed the new edition. The “March to XI” initiative offers a physical, made-to-order campaign credit card designed to lock in pre-order allocations and provide bonus store credit ahead of the anticipated summer launch.
Running until the 31st of March 2026, the programme directly addresses the anxiety many tabletop gamers feel around major release cycles, where securing launch boxes like Leviathan can turn into a logistical bloodbath. For £50, players receive a collectable card, a themed gift box, and up to a 20% “free money” top-up to help mitigate the squeeze of recent industry price hikes. While the priority-allocation “Warlord” tier of 30 slots vanished almost immediately based entirely on industry open secrets, standard cardholders are still enrolled in a “second chance” allocation pool.

Operating out of Barry, South Wales, Loaded Dice represents a modern success story in the roleplaying games and miniature wargaming retail space. Launching online during the turbulence of 2020 and opening a physical storefront in 2023, the shop has cultivated a dedicated local scene. We spoke with Graham, Managing Director at Loaded Dice, about the reality of stocking for an unannounced edition, supporting the Barry community, and his hopes for the ruleset.
The “Warlord” Tier mentions “Priority Allocation.” As many hobbyists know, getting your hands on a big launch box (like Leviathan or Indomitus) can be a bit of a bloodbath. How are you handling that process to ensure your Warlords actually get their boots on the ground on launch day?
We have based this on the 10th edition launch numbers and our allocations are actually larger now due to us working with GW for over 3 years. The warlord cards were limited to 30 for this very reason. Unfortunately these sold out very fast but if anyone purchases the other cards they would get second chance offer should we have extra allocations available.
The Campaign Card itself is “made to order” and collectable. Can you tell us a bit more about the physical card? Is this something fans will want to keep in their wallets as a memento of the 11th Edition launch?
It will be like a standard gift card but we hope it will be something that people would want to keep. It will also come in a gift box with a free warhammer themed gift.
You’re offering “Free Money” top-ups (up to 20%). For a local retailer, that’s a generous move! What inspired you to go so big on the bonus credit for this edition change?
Price rises of GW have meant that people trying to get into the hobby have been squeezed. We obviously want to try and help those people out and from our perspective we hope that they would continue to shop with us.
Loaded Dice started in 2020 – talk about a wild time to open a shop! How has the community in Barry and South Wales grown since then, and what’s the atmosphere like in the store now that 11th Edition is on the horizon?
We actually started online for 3 years and opened the shop in 2023 which is when we expanded into GW. But yes the whole 6 years has been white-knuckle, to be honest! The Barry hobby scene surprised us with its range of artists and players. We’ve got some amazing work of very talented locals proudly displayed in our shop window and we continue to support local games clubs as best we can. People are asking about 11th but I think a lot of people are concerned how much it will cost, and rightly so.
You mentioned exclusive live streams and events for cardholders. What kind of “tips and tricks” can people expect? Are we talking about speed-painting the new box set or deep-dives into the rumoured rule changes?
Yes we plan to continue before and after the launch with updates on rules and special offers based on key releases. The live streams will be a bit of fun to build the community and we are planning to do a podcast style thing and some tutorials to help people get into it. We’d like to continue building the community around 40k and make it approachable to new starters.
The rumours are pointing heavily toward Orks vs. Space Marines. As a retailer, have you seen a sudden uptick in people buying Green (or perhaps painting their current armies red to go faster)?
Yes it has begun to pick up as people want to get their armies ready for 11th. We will stock up even more on orky related items in anticipation as we’ve got lots of room in our warehouse…or as we call it, the “WaaaghHouse”
The Wargamer guide mentions the potential return of a Primarch like Perturabo or Vulkan. If you could pick one legendary figure to get a massive new centrepiece model for 11th Edition, who would it be and why?
I’d like to see Leman Russ return, not sure it will happen in 11th but you never know!
There’s talk of 11th Edition being an “evolution” of 10th. What is one “quality of life” change you’re personally hoping Games Workshop implements to make the game better for your local players?
I would love to see a return of costed war gear when list building, this added a flavour to creating lists that is sorely missed from 9th edition.
