Modiphius Entertainment, in partnership with Bethesda Softworks and MachineGames, has announced the development of the official Wolfenstein tabletop roleplaying game. The project, set in the alternate-history timeline of the award-winning video games The New Order and The New Colossus, is scheduled to arrive on crowdfunding platforms later in 2026.

The new roleplaying game will utilise a specially adapted version of Modiphius’ proprietary 2d20 system. This updated engine has been tailored to facilitate the pulp action and high-stakes combat characteristic of the modern video game franchise. Players will take on the role of Resistance members, building their own cells to strike back against the global iron rule of the Nazi regime.
A Focus on the Resistance Cell
While the video games famously follow the exploits of B.J. Blazkowicz, the tabletop adaptation shifts the focus toward the broader Resistance movement. The game is designed to support collaborative storytelling, allowing groups to mount daring operations, engage in tactical warfare, and tell new stories within the established “nightmare” setting.
The 2d20 system adaptation aims to capture the specific “blood, fire, and fury” of the source material. According to the announcement, the system will be streamlined for faster play to mirror the intensity of a first-person shooter while maintaining the tactical depth required for a tabletop roleplaying game.
Development and Launch
The project represents a continued collaboration between London-based Modiphius and Bethesda, following their work on the Fallout and The Elder Scrolls tabletop lines. The development is being handled in close proximity to the original setting’s creators at MachineGames to ensure the “dieselpunk” aesthetic and narrative tone remain authentic to the digital originals.
Modiphius Entertainment said in a statement,
We’re absolutely thrilled to announce that we’re developing the official Wolfenstein TTRPG in partnership with Bethesda and Machinegames! Prepare to join the resistance in this alt-history nightmare, using our updated 2d20 system tailored for pulp action. Expect blood, bullets, and big ol’ blasts!”
Modiphius has opened a dedicated mailing list for the project, where fans can sign up to receive alerts regarding the launch of the crowdfunding campaign and further development updates.
