Beyond Cataclysm Games is back with a sequel to their disaster-prone solo RPG, moving the comedy-horror from a cursed village to the cold vacuum of the cosmos. Lucky for None in Space! is a solo journaling game where you explore the galaxy, wreck it, and try to survive using a very specific tool: a 13-sided die.
We’ve got until February 26th to back the campaign.
We previously covered how the publisher bought every d13 in the world for the original game, and now they are putting that stockpile to extraterrestrial use.
How to play
The game mechanics are suitably chaotic. You start by choosing one of 13 jobs, ranging from the esteemed Ship Doctor to the humble Cargo Grunt. The drama begins by rolling on the “Ship Problems” table to generate your crisis. A roll of 2 and 9, for example, might combine “Power” and “Nanobots”. Are tiny machines eating your batteries? Or have they absorbed so much energy they are turning the ship into a giant Pringles tube?
Resolution involves rolling on an action table and adding relevant skills. High rolls are generally good, low rolls often result in death, but rolling a 13 is the specific trigger for the “BAD THINGS” table. If you can survive 13 events, you win—though the galaxy might never be the same again.

The Campaign
As part of Kickstarter’s Zine Quest, this project offers a compact experience. The system is designed for solo play but can be adapted for groups. It leans heavily into the absurdity of sci-fi tropes, blending the isolation of Alien with the incompetence of Red Dwarf.
The campaign is already funded, smashing its £500 goal with over £5,000 pledged. Beyond Cataclysm has structured the rewards to ensure everyone gets the necessary hardware (or software) to play:
- Pledge £10: The Virtual Spacer tier includes the PDF of the game and a custom digital dice roller, ensuring you can play even without the physical d13.
- Pledge £18: The Boots on the Moon! tier gets you the physical zine, the PDF, and one of those infamous 13-sided dice.
- Pledge £32: The Double Unlucky tier is for completionists, offering physical copies of both the original Lucky for None and the new Space edition, plus two d13 dice.
- Pledge £68: The MEGA BUNDLE includes the new game, the old game, the dice, and a hoard of other Beyond Cataclysm titles like Bloody & Alone in Appalachia and ISBN Coffee.
The estimated delivery for the physical rewards is September 2026.
