Matthew Lillard, the actor who first donned the Ghost Face mask in 1996’s Scream, is returning to the scene of the crime. Today, the actor and entrepreneur announced the launch of Ghost Face Vodka, a new premium spirit produced under his Macabre Spirits label.

This isn’t Lillard’s first foray into business ventures that target dedicated fandoms. He is already well-known in tabletop gaming circles as a co-founder of Beadle & Grimm’s, a company that produces high-end, premium boxed sets for Dungeons & Dragons. With Macabre Spirits, Lillard appears to be applying the same philosophy of “premium collectables” to the alcohol industry, bridging the gap between horror memorabilia and top-shelf spirits.
A Spirit to Die For
The marketing for the new drink leans heavily into Lillard’s history with the franchise. The press release describes the vodka as “smooth and strong as a blade,” referencing the iconic weapon of the Woodsboro killer.
Produced by Find Familiar Spirits, the brand’s parent company, the vodka is crafted from 100% non-GMO German potatoes. It is gluten-free and will be sold in an “exclusive collectable set” which includes a bottle hand-signed by Lillard himself.
Lillard, who also played Shaggy in the live-action Scooby-Doo films, has built a reputation for understanding what fans want. “You’ve heard the rumors, now see the evidence,” the announcement teases, positioning the bottle not just as a drink, but as a piece of evidence from a crime scene.
The Drop
In true limited-edition fashion, the company warns that this will be an “extremely limited run.” The vodka is scheduled to drop on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 9am PT / 12pm ET.
Fans looking to secure a signed bottle are encouraged to sign up for text alerts via the Macabre Spirits website, as these collectable runs tend to sell out rapidly.
The Geek Native Take
While celebrity spirits are nothing new – Ryan Reynolds had Aviation Gin and Dan Aykroyd has Crystal Head – Lillard’s approach feels distinctly different. His track record with Beadle & Grimm’s proves he understands the “whale” customer: the fan who wants a premium, tactile experience. Ghost Face Vodka seems positioned less as a generic endorsement deal and more as an extension of his personal brand within the horror and gaming communities.
For those who can’t wait until February to get their horror fix, you can find a wide range of Scream merchandise and collectables at Spirit Halloween or check out the latest horror Blu-rays at Zavvi. If you’re looking for other premium drinks to fill your cabinet while you wait, Master of Malt offers a vast selection of spirits.
