Vice Press has announced a new wave of physical media aimed squarely at collectors, confirming the release of the original 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie on VHS, alongside restored theatrical posters.
The release, scheduled for Thursday, 29th January, follows a preview at the company’s Open House event last year. While Vice Press is primarily known for high-end art prints, its Vice Press Home Video line has been quietly tapping into the growing nostalgia for magnetic tape, offering functional, albeit niche, collectables for fans of retro formats.

Cowabunga on Cassette
The headline attraction is the VHS release, which arrives in three distinct editions. In a nod to the franchise’s aesthetics, the cassettes themselves are moulded in green plastic.
Collectors can choose between two Slipcase Editions, each limited to 400 copies. One features the original theatrical artwork, while the other showcases art by Matt Ferguson. Both include an A3 poster and a spine sticker featuring one of the four Turtles’ bandanas. Vice Press has stated that customers buying multiple copies will receive different bandana spines to avoid duplicates.
For those seeking a premium package, the Collector’s Edition (limited to 200 copies) features a reversible sleeve and includes the A3 poster.

Pricing and Practicalities
Nostalgia does come at a premium. Each VHS edition is priced at £39.99. Perhaps more importantly for international readers, Vice Press has confirmed these tapes are formatted in PAL. While they ship globally, the tapes will not play on standard NTSC VCRs commonly found in North America or Japan.
Restored Theatrical Art
Alongside the video release, Vice Press is issuing the original theatrical poster as a 24×36 inch lithograph. This release is notable for being the first time this specific artwork has been available with the titles and credits fully formatted, a restoration job undertaken by Ferguson.
The poster is available as a regular edition of 300 (£39.99) and a foil variant edition of 180 (£59.99).
Availability
The collection launches at 6 pm GMT on Thursday, 29th January, exclusively via the Vice Press website.
While this release is strictly limited to the Vice Press store, fans looking for more general Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles merchandise or modern Blu-ray copies can often find stock at retailers like Zavvi.
