We’ve now got the first full trailer for Maggie Gyllenhaal‘s The Bride! to share with you – and what a trailer it is, with anarchic attitude galore, along with gun-toting undead and a bit of fantasy/tragedy monster romance.
Jessie Buckley plays the undead Bride, starring alongside Christian Bale as Frankie, her romantic cohort and partner-in-crime, in an almost Bonnie and Clyde-like zombie outlaw love story. You know what else it is? Damn refreshing.
Here’s the official synopsis:
A lonely Frankenstein (Bale) travels to 1930s Chicago to ask groundbreaking scientist Dr. Euphronious (five-time Oscar nominee Annette Bening) to create a companion for him. The two revive a murdered young woman and The Bride (Buckley) is born. What ensues is beyond what either of them imagined: Murder! Possession! A wild and radical cultural movement! And outlaw lovers in a wild and combustible romance!
Y’know what? It’s actually giving me the vibes I only wish I’d gotten from Joker: Folie à Deux – and I’m not sure if that’s wrong of me to say, but I’m saying it anyway. Watch the full trailer below:
The film was written and directed by Gyllenhaal, and from what I can see, it’s something to get excited about. However, we won’t have to wait for long, as The Bride! will be in a cinema near you on 6th March!
