Fantasy Grounds has had an epic 2025 and gone free-to-play. The team have been especially kind to Geek Native, and has provided us with a list of the best-selling modules on the platform this year. We’re using “module” here to mean a thing from the Fantasy Ground store, be that core rules, dice or adventure.

- Dungeons & Dragons Monster Manual
- Dungeons & Dragons Player’s Handbook
- Dungeons & Dragons Dungeon Master’s Guide
- Fantasy Heroes Dice Pack Volume 1
- Monsters NPC Dice Pack Volume 2
- Dragons NPC Dice Pack Volume 1
- Monsters NPC Dice Pack Volume 1
- Fantasy Heroes Dice Pack Volume 2
- Blood Dice Pack
- D&D Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything
You can see what’s trending at the moment on Fantasy Grounds just by visiting their store.
Fantasy Grounds’ helpful share of their top 10 gives us a glimpse at the raw reality of the VTT landscape. D&D dominates the chart, which isn’t a surprise. Despite the vast library of adventures, Monster Manual, Player’s Handbook, and Dungeon Master’s Guide are in the top slots and act as the ‘operating system’ for many people’s adventures.
Speaking of adventures, they’re not present in the top 10 at all, which also makes sense, as most players will buy the Player’s Handbook, but not every group will play the same adventure.
In contrast, Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything sneaking in at #10 proves that high-crunch “player option” books have a much longer shelf life than adventures. Players always want new subclasses and spells.
Lastly, there are some dice in the list as well. While the DM often buys rulebooks, dice packs are a purchase players can make to feel a sense of ownership over their virtual tabletop experience. This suggests Fantasy Grounds has successfully tapped into the player side of the market as well, not just the GMs.
While this list highlights the foundational ‘operating system’ of the virtual tabletop, it doesn’t tell the whole story. If you want to see what players are choosing when they step away from the big red dragon, check out our analysis of the non-D&D best-sellers on Fantasy Grounds for 2025, featuring Shadowdark, Pathfinder, and more.
