Today, the digital tabletops of the gaming world have become significantly more perilous and perhaps a little more familiar. Resolution Games, in collaboration with Hasbro’s Wizards of the Coast, has officially launched Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked.

Available now across Steam (PC and VR), PlayStation 5 (with PS VR2 support), and Meta Quest, the game aims to bridge the gap between the tactile feel of miniature wargaming and the accessibility of modern video games. It retails for $29.99 USD.
For those who have followed Resolution Games’ trajectory, this feels like a natural evolution. Their original title, Demeo, tried to translate the “game night” feeling into Virtual Reality, allowing friends to hover over a virtual basement table and move miniatures. Battlemarked takes that engine and skins it with the heavy-hitting intellectual property of the Forgotten Realms.
You can watch the launch trailer below.
A Hybrid of Lore and Mechanics
While Baldur’s Gate 3 captured the sprawling narrative complexity of D&D, Battlemarked aims for the tactical crunch of the combat encounter. It is built on the “Demeo Action Roleplaying System,” a framework designed to streamline the often maths-heavy rules of the tabletop original into pick-up-and-play video game mechanics.
However, this isn’t just Demeo with a D20 slapped on it. The game launches with six iconic D&D classes: Paladin, Sorcerer, Ranger, Rogue, Fighter, and Bard. Crucially, unlike the roguelike nature of the original Demeo, where progress resets, Battlemarked features persistent character progression. Your heroes will level up, increase their ability scores, and unlock new capabilities as you play, mirroring the long-term investment of a traditional campaign.
Two Campaigns at Launch
The game comes with two distinct campaigns written by Matt Sernett, a name familiar to deep-lore enthusiasts of Dungeons & Dragons.
- Embers of Chaos: Players must uncover a goblin conspiracy within the Neverwinter Wood, eventually delving into the volcanic depths beneath Mount Hotenow.
- Crown of Frost: A trek through the frozen wastes of Icewind Dale to Ten Towns, culminating in a battle against a frost giant uprising.
Tommy Palm, CEO of Resolution Games, highlighted the accessibility angle in a press statement today.
For us that meant, bringing you right into the heart of the adventure — where every turn is tactical, every choice matters, and anyone can be a hero,” he said. “Battlemarked brings the world of D&D to life in a way that’s easy to jump into and hard to put down for pick-up-and-play D&D fun with all of your friends.”
Cross-Platform Dungeoneering
One of the most significant technical achievements here is the cross-play functionality. In an era when hardware choices often fracture friendship groups, Battlemarked lets a player on a flat-screen PC adventure alongside a friend in a Meta Quest headset and another on a PlayStation 5.
The game supports solo play, but it is clearly designed as a co-op experience for up to four players, mimicking the social dynamic of a real-world gaming table.
Where to Buy and How to Play
Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked is available now on digital storefronts.
- PC Gamers: You can often find competitive prices on Steam keys at retailers like Fanatical or Green Man Gaming.
- Tabletop Fans: If all this digital dice rolling has you yearning for the “Theatre of the Mind” and physical rulebooks, you can pick up the official D&D 5th Edition sourcebooks at the usual places.
Resolution Games has confirmed that additional campaigns are already planned as DLC throughout 2026, promising to expand the adventure into other iconic locations within the Forgotten Realms.
