Find Familiar Spirits, the TTRPG-themed spirits company co-founded by actor Matthew Lillard, has announced its latest release. The new bottle, Quest’s End Monk, marks a significant step for the brand as its first-ever cask strength whiskey. This release continues the company’s “Class Collection” series, blending high-proof spirits with original fantasy storytelling.

The “cask strength” designation means the whiskey is bottled directly from the barrel, unadulterated and not diluted, resulting in a much higher proof. The company is leaning into this “fiery” nature as a core part of the Monk character’s theme.
Molly Troupe, Quest’s End’s Master Blender, explained the concept in the press release. “Quest’s End has always been about making spirits that are as authentic to the story and the character as they are to the art of distilling,” she said. Troupe noted that since the monk character in the accompanying story “channels volcanic energy,” the team decided a “pure, fiery, cask strength” whiskey was the perfect fit.
The company describes the whiskey as “exceptionally rich, layered, and powerful,” with tasting notes of black cherry, toasted barley, and orange on the nose, followed by vanilla, granola, and plum on the palate.
As with previous Quest’s End releases, the Monk bottle is a collector’s item that includes a new chapter of the brand’s original fantasy saga, Dawn of the Unbound Gods. This instalment, and the rest of the second “season,” is penned by Sunday Times bestselling author Andrea Stewart, known for The Drowning Empire trilogy.
The geek credentials of the release are further bolstered by the artwork. The bespoke cover and bottle art were created by Tyler Jacobson, whose iconic work is well-known to fans of Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering.
Find Familiar Spirits, which Lillard co-founded with screenwriter/producer Justin Ware and Blue Run Spirits co-founder Tim Sparapani, is timing this premium release for the Black Friday and Cyber Monday holiday shopping rush.
Quest’s End Monk will be available for presale on November 12th to the Find Familiar Spirits mailing list, with a general launch on November 13th.
However, Geek Native readers in the UK, particularly in Scotland, may need to be patient. As a Scottish-based TTRPG blog, we find TTRPG-inspired whiskey stories hard to ignore, but this release appears to be a direct-to-consumer offering in the US. While the company has shipped limited quantities of past releases to the UK, this new bottle will be available exclusively from the FindFamiliarSpirits.com website, and international availability for alcohol is often complicated.
