The Halloween-season TTRPG offers continue with a revived bundle focused on old-school horror-fantasy. The “Nightmares Underneath” bundle is back at Bundle of Holding, collecting the core game and numerous supplements from Chthonstone Games.
The TTRPG, written by Johnstone Metzger, is set in a world where the physical realm faces invasion from the Realm of Nightmares. These “incursions” manifest as dungeons, which adventurers must enter to destroy the “anchor” binding the nightmare to the world.
The Nightmares Underneath adapts old-school fantasy rules with its own unique mechanics. It replaces hit points with a “Disposition” score and introduces new systems for alignment and spellcasting. The game also features rules for community and institution building, as players can invest their loot to improve their home base.
The revived offer is structured in two tiers, with the starter tier providing a low-cost entry point to the complete game.
Nightmare Starter – $9.95
For $9.95, customers receive three titles with a stated retail value of $45. This tier includes the First and Second Editions of the 400-page core rulebook.
