Halloween animatronics sales are up by over 50% in a significant boom for décor, driven by giant light-up props and a massive new catalogue of releases.
The surge in Halloween décor has pushed overall September sales up by 29.5% year-over-year compared to the previous year, demonstrating that consumers are going “all-in” on creating show-stopping displays.

According to data from retailer HalloweenCostumes.com, animatronics are the clear leader of this trend, with sales up a staggering 50.4% year-over-year. This is being fuelled not just by returning favourites but by a catalogue of over 100 new animatronic releases this season.
It appears the mantra for 2025 is “bigger, brighter, and bolder,” with giant decorations over 10 feet tall, including towering animatronics and oversized inflatables, seeing a combined 50.7% increase in sales. Even smaller items, like themed candy bowls, are seeing a 5% bump, suggesting that every detail is being upgraded.

“Halloween Animatronics sales are up 53% year-over-year, which is the strongest growth of any décor category,” the company explained in the press release. “All signs point to consumers going all-in on creating bigger, show-stopping displays this season.”
This continues a trend noted by Geek Native back in 2023, where a survey of Halloween plans revealed a strong, long-term boom in decorating alongside multi-costume strategies. The current sales figures confirm that this survey data has fully translated into consumer spending.
The New Faces of Fear
To support this demand, HalloweenCostumes.com rolled out four special décor collections this year, totalling 83 new products, which appear to be the source of much of the excitement.

Analysis of this release data reveals the rollout strategy and the dominant themes of the 2025 season. The main product push came in the form of the July Wave 2, which accounted for 41 of the 83 new props. This was complemented by the Scream Savers collection (21 products) and an early February Wave 1 (17 products). A smaller, licensed collection of four Ghostbusters Animatronics rounded out the initial launch.
Looking at the product names, one particular theme appears to be having a renaissance, and it’s perhaps the most classic of all fears: the Clown. Seventeen of the new animatronics, including Gabby the Grisly Clown Animated Decoration and Rictus the Evil Clown Animated Decoration, fall under this theme, making it the most prominent new collection.
Other high-frequency themes include Ghost (seven products), Scarecrow (six products), and Zombie and Witch (both four products). It seems that for every monstrous fiend, a sinister clown is waiting to join your garden display.
