Roll20Con 2025 has kicked off, marking the virtual tabletop’s ninth anniversary with a weekend-long celebration of online roleplaying that puts charity fundraising at its heart.

The online convention, running from September 26th to 29th, features two significant charity drives. A partnership with the professional GM platform StartPlaying.Games will raise money for The Trevor Project, a non-profit organisation focused on suicide prevention among LGBTQ+ young people. All proceeds from games run through the platform during the event will go to the charity, with both Roll20 and StartPlaying matching every dollar raised.
Gamers looking for new titles can also support a good cause through a bundle on DriveThruRPG. The Outright International Roll20Con 2025 Bundle offers a 90% discount on over $200 worth of digital TTRPG books and resources. All proceeds will support Outright International, an NGO dedicated to protecting the human rights of LGBTIQ people globally.
Alongside the charity initiatives, Roll20 is offering a host of freebies and giveaways to attract players to the platform. This weekend only, users can claim free digital copies of adventures for three major roleplaying games: D&D 5e, Cyberpunk RED, and ALIEN: The Roleplaying Game.
Players who participate in any game on the platform for at least two hours will be entered into a draw to win a one-year Roll20 Pro subscription. In a separate competition, the company is offering a lifetime Pro subscription to one user (or their GM) who shares their favourite roleplaying stories and pictures as part of the celebration.
The event showcases a wide range of game systems, with GMs on StartPlaying offering sessions in everything from established giants like D&D 5e and ALIEN to anticipated new releases such as Daggerheart and the Cosmere RPG.
Roll20 has also used the convention to highlight new and upcoming content, including a digital unboxing of the new D&D 2024 Starter Set on the VTT and new releases for the Cosmere RPG on the Demiplane digital toolset.
