Award-winning educational TTRPG series The Adventurer’s Apprentice is set to expand with two new books, creator Jennifer Masters has confirmed. The announcement follows the series winning ‘Best Literacy Game 2025’ at the Imagination Gaming awards.

The tabletop roleplaying series, designed to help children aged four to eight learn through play, was on show at Tabletop Scotland this weekend. Jennifer Masters and her team proudly displayed the new award, which was won against fierce competition.
The series currently consists of three books: the introductory adventure The Mysterious Egg, followed by The Itchy Dragon, and The Unicorn Heist. Geek Native has previously reported on the successful launch of The Unicorn Heist at the UK Games Expo.
Masters has now confirmed that two further books will complete the series. The fourth instalment, which is currently untitled, will be an equipment book. This addition aims to introduce young players to concepts like money management, the value of items, rewards, and mathematics in a practical, game-based context.
Details on the fifth and final book remain under wraps, with Masters declining to reveal its name, content, or potential release date, although it is believed to be finished.
Once the five-book series is complete, a whole new series will follow. This subsequent project will be aimed at an older audience of 8 to 12-year-olds, providing a next step for graduates of The Adventurer’s Apprentice and a new entry point for older children.
The creator, Jennifer Masters, has over 15 years of experience in education and holds a BSc in Computing Science and Professional Education. Her design philosophy focuses on gamifying skill acquisition, using engaging stories to provide context for STEM skills.
