Following the success of their 2024 collaboration on Warhammer 40,000: The Ultimate Guide, DK and Games Workshop are set to expand their publishing partnership this autumn with a trio of new books. The headline release is a comprehensive character encyclopaedia which will be bundled with an exclusive miniature of a fan-favourite Space Marine.

The flagship offering is the Warhammer 40,000 Character Encyclopaedia, slated for an October release. This 200-page hardback aims to be the first comprehensive guide to the key figures of the 41st Millennium, covering over 120 heroes and villains from every faction. Each entry will feature miniature photography and essential lore. Crucially for collectors and gamers, every copy will include an exclusive plastic miniature of Lieutenant Titus, the protagonist of the popular Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine video game series. The book is written by Warhammer Studio veteran and former Loremasters host, Wade Pryce.
November will see the release of The Art of Warhammer Video Games. This 208-page volume celebrates 30 years of Warhammer on screen, offering a visual history of titles from classics like Dawn of War to recent hits. The book promises never-before-seen concept art, sketches, and developer commentary. As a significant bonus, each copy will contain Steam codes for free copies of Warhammer: Vermintide, Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector, and Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin, plus a character boost for Lieutenant Titus in the mobile game Warhammer 40,000 Tacticus.
Rounding out the releases in October is Warhammer 40,000: Words of War. This pocket-sized 64-page book is a collection of notable quotes and sayings from the grimdark universe. Positioned as an affordable and accessible entry point for new fans or a small collectable for veterans, it captures the iconic tone of the setting.

These releases come as Warhammer’s presence in mainstream culture continues to grow, most notably with Amazon moving forward with a Warhammer 40,000 television series set to star Henry Cavill. The new books from DK appear timed to cater to both the established fanbase and a new wave of potential converts.
The Warhammer 40,000 Character Encyclopaedia is priced at £25.00, The Art of Warhammer Video Games at £40.00, and Words of War at £7.99. All three are available for pre-order.
