Poland-based The Lunar is crowdfunding a Miskatonic Repository project, which means content for the TTRPG Call of Cthulhu.
On offer is The Oracle, a one-shot murder mystery described as an adventure of prophecy and smog. The Kickstarter is running until the end of the month.
The detective adventure is Cthulhu Mythos grim, and while The Lunar doesn’t tell us much about it, worried about spoilers, no doubt, we are told the project is finished.
Yes, we’ve heard about “finished” Kickstarters before… but The Oracle offers an Instant Access tier, which we’ll discuss in a bit, granting immediate access.
Why Kickstart at all? The Oracle can transform from a digital one-shot to a module.
London, November 1950. The city still bears the scars of the recent war. The air is often heavy with London’s famous smog, limiting visibility and creating an oppressive, mysterious atmosphere. In this mood of weariness and apprehension, you receive a letter from a journalist. He writes of being followed…
When you arrive at his flat in Whitechapel, you find him dead—his face frozen in an expression of unspeakable horror, clutching an unopened, prophetic letter in his hand…
You can support the project by offering financial backing or spreading the word. That Instant Access tier isn’t set at some unlikely high bar – it’s the very first reward. Backers who can contribute €5 will receive the unedited and one-time version (in English) of The Oracle.
However, those who step up to €15 will also receive the final version of The Oracle. If stretch goals are met, there will even be a Polish language version.
Will there be a printed version? Backers at €25 get the DriveThruRPG print-on-demand version, but that’s an at-cost coupon.
After this tier, there are some perks for The Oracle backers, such as the €50 “Name an NPC” or the €100 tier, in which an NPC is based on you.
The final module is slated for January 2026.
