The number of computer game matches for a Heroes of Might and Magic search speaks to the success of Jon Van Caneghem and (now) Ubisoft’s (originally New World Computing) turn-based strategy.
Now, Modiphius Entertainment and Polish-based developer Lans Macabre are working together to bring a TTRPG version of Heroes of Might and Magic to life. They’re on Kickstarter until 8th of June.
Heroes of Might and Magic, Modiphius’s 2d20 system’s first high-fantasy adaptation, is set in the world of Enroth during the dramatic events of the third series instalment, ‘The Restoration of Erathia.’ As chaos unfolds across the continent, characters must rally forces as they’re powerful leaders within the game’s factions.
The system supports mass battles, rules for building domains and growing settlements and magic powerful enough to remove entire regiments.
As a result, Heroes of Might and Magic sounds a little different from other high fantasy TTRPGs, but there is a 62-page free to download quickstart and welcome to Enroth.
The game is officially licensed from Ubisoft.
The core mechanic of HoMM TTRPG is fast, flexible, and story-driven. While the game’s core mechanics are based on the well-known and widely used 2D20 system, HoMMTTRPG elevates it to a more epic level.

Backers at €18 (the Kickstarter project is being run from Warsaw, not London, so the pledge tiers start in Euros and are then adapted for your local currency) unlock the PDF version of the Heroes of Might and Magic core rules.
At €30, backers get the same Heroes of Might and Magic core rules and all the stretch goals.
Those supporters who can step up to €45, which is about £38, will get the hardcover edition of Heroes of Might and Magic as well as the PDF. Shipping is added later.
The limited edition Heroes of Might and Magic is the reward and stretch goals at €80. Alternatively, backers could also go for a standard Heroes of Might and Magic book and get a GM screen and dice instead. Those who want the limited edition Heroes of Might and Magic and the accessories can unlock that at €115.
Lastly, the €210 tier offers both Heroes of Might and Magic versions and a large fabric map of Antagarich.
LMPublishing and Modiphius estimate a December 2025 release for the PDF and May 2026 for the hardbacks.
