The “Minicats” work as you imagine but might be even more high quality. These are handcrafted from maple wood and lined with velvet. You can request either ebony, dark walnut or red oak finish when you place your order.
The dice catapults include a tension band, but almost any rubber band will do if you need to replace that. DBD say that you can get just the distance to almost anything; if you can find the right band and tension.
Dragon Burn Designs are based in the States, the dice catapult will ship to the UK, and the 2x6x2 inch build costs less than £25, and I imagine I’d end up paying the same again in postage.
