Mad science? The drill powered Strandbeest walker

Every now and then Geek Native finds a Strandbeest story. It just goes to show just how Theo Jansen’s designs are reaching people.

This particular strandbeest turns you into something of a centaur-strandbeest, adding hind-legs powered by a household drill and letting you scoot around the street.

It doesn’t look like an entirely smooth ride by, my gosh, you’re bound to end up in countless selfies if you ever did ride this to work one day. It’s not every day you get to see a drill powered walking machine.
