Warhammer now has a range of cuddly plushies. Who would have expected the dark future or the grimdark fantasy worlds of Games Workshop to be so cute? Or creepycute?
Birmingham-based etailer Merchoid has a large collection, so let’s use their stock to sort through the tubby treasures. Here’s my suggested list from best to worst! Fighting talk, I know!
#1 Servo Skull Plush Figure (28cm)

The Servo Skull is perhaps the most iconic piece of Gothic technology in Warhammer 40,000, and seeing it rendered in soft fabric is a delightful contradiction. This 28cm plush captures the mechanical augmentations and trailing cables of a loyal Imperial servant’s remains without any of the actual morbidity. It is the perfect desk companion for those who want their workspace to look like an Inquisition cell but feel like a nursery.

#2 Purple Sun of Shyish Plush Figure (38cm)

Endless Spells are usually a harbinger of doom on the tabletop, but the Purple Sun of Shyish is surprisingly huggable in this 38cm format. This manifestation of the Lore of Death, complete with its menacing face and solar rays, looks fantastic as a statement piece. It manages to translate the terrifying magical vortex of Warhammer Age of Sigmar into something that won’t actually crystallise your soul.

#3 Necron Scarab Plush Figure (15cm)

Usually found in swarms stripping the metal from Imperial tanks, this Necron Scarab is far more well-behaved. At 15cm, it is a compact little critter that perfectly mirrors the beetle-like aesthetics of the undying dynasties. It is a great way to show your allegiance to the Necron Lords without having to undergo the pain of biotransference.

#4 Ripper Plush Figure (15cm)

The Tyranid Hive Mind usually sends Rippers to consume every scrap of biomass on a planet. This particular specimen, however, seems more interested in sitting on a shelf. The design captures the multi-limbed, chitinous look of the Tyranid swarm but replaces the terrifying maw with something far more approachable. It’s a rare chance to cuddle a xenos threat.

#5 Weighted Squig Plush Figure Space Marine 2 (23cm)

This Squig is a special tie-in for the Space Marine 2 video game, and the “weighted” aspect makes it feel remarkably substantial. Orks love these hungry, bouncy spheres of teeth, and this plush version captures that manic energy perfectly. Its red hide and gaping mouth are classic Warhammer aesthetics, making it a standout in the range.

#6 Gnasha-Squig Plush

Similar to its weighted cousin, the Gnasha-Squig is the quintessential Ork pet. It’s all mouth and attitude. The plush version leans into the “creepycute” vibe, with a toothy grin that suggests it might try to eat your other toys when you aren’t looking. It perfectly represents the chaotic fun that Orks bring to the setting.

#7 Nurgling – Little Unclean One Plush

Nurglings are the mischievous, rotting children of the Chaos God Nurgle. While the lore says they are made of filth and disease, this plush is purely made of soft fabric. It captures the bloated, cheerful look of the “Little Unclean Ones” that often swarm around the feet of Greater Daemons, bringing a bit of the Garden of Nurgle to your living room.

#8 Sassy Nurgling Plush Figure (15cm)

The “Sassy” Nurgling became a community legend when it appeared on the base of a Death Guard miniature wearing a champion’s helmet. This plush brings that defiant, cheeky personality to life. It’s a small, characterful piece that shows even the servants of Chaos have a sense of style.
Bring home some Chaos attitude from Merchoid.
#9 Watcher in the Dark Plush Figure (17cm)

Mysterious and diminutive, Watchers in the Dark are the silent companions of the Dark Angels Space Marines. This 17cm plush keeps the mystery alive, featuring the iconic hooded robes and lack of visible face. It’s an evocative design that fits perfectly with the secretive lore of the Unforgiven.

#10 Space Marine Plush Figure

The franchise’s poster boys, the Space Marines, get a simplified, “chibi”- style treatment here. While the real Adeptus Astartes are transhuman killing machines, this version is purely for show. It captures the basic silhouette of the power armour and the iconic helmet, serving as a gateway toy for younger fans or a lighthearted gift for a veteran player.

#11 Spanna Grot Plush

Grots, or Gretchin, are the long-suffering servants of the Orks. The Spanna Grot, specifically, is tasked with fixing (or breaking) Orky technology. This plush features the species’ oversized ears and long nose, offering a sympathetic look at the lowest rung of Orky society.

#12 Gryph-Hound Plush

The Gryph-Hound is one of the more majestic creatures from the Mortal Realms, serving the Stormcast Eternals. This plush version trades the sharp beak and feathers for soft materials, resulting in a loyal-looking companion. It’s a great piece for fans of Warhammer’s heroic fantasy side.

#13 Gloomspite Git Plush Figure

The Gloomspite Gits are the fungus-eating, moon-worshipping grots of the caves. This plush captures their sinister but slightly ridiculous hooded look. While they are usually found stabbing things in the dark, this version is much safer to have around the house.

#14 Da Red Gobbo Plush Figure

A festive favourite, Da Red Gobbo is the legendary leader of the Gretchin Revolutionary Committee. Dressed in his holiday red coat, this plush is a bit of seasonal fun for the Warhammer fan who has everything. He’s lower on the list only because he’s a bit niche, but his charm is undeniable.

Whether you are a veteran of the Long War or a newcomer to the Mortal Realms, these plushies offer a rare chance to bring a piece of the grimdark home without the usual risk of heresy. Just remember that while they might look soft and inviting, a Nurgling is still a Nurgling—keep them away from your best fabrics and perhaps your soul.
