Para Bellum Wargames has announced that the festive season in the world of Eä will be marked by the arrival of a limited edition miniature: the Krampus.

Moving away from the traditional jovial holiday aesthetics, the publisher of the fantasy rank-and-file wargame Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings and its skirmish counterpart Conquest: First Blood has opted for a “delightful unease” with this release. The figure is available immediately through December 15th as a promotional item.
Collectors and players can acquire the Krampus miniature for free by spending over USD/EUR 129.99 on the company’s e-shop or at participating Friendly Local Game Stores. Para Bellum has stated that once the promotion concludes on December 15th, the miniature will return to the status of a “Holiday Legend” and will not be produced again.
While many promotional miniatures are destined for the display cabinet, Para Bellum has integrated the Krampus into the game mechanics. The model comes with unique rules suitable for both narrative and casual play.
Functioning as a legendary character available to any faction, the Krampus introduces a risk-and-reward mechanic to the tabletop. According to the design team, players can interact with the model to “gain favour and make deals,” though these interactions carry the risk of provoking the creature’s ire if the deal goes awry.
Stavros Halkias, Founder and Creative Director at Para Bellum Wargames, said in a statement:
“The [holidays] are about tradition, and our holiday minis are one we cherish and our community has embraced. The Krampus seemed like a natural fit, grim and threatening as all things Conquest are. Happy holidays!”
The company has also provided lore justifications to fit the entity into the game’s disparate cultures. To the Hundred Kingdoms, the Krampus is viewed as an ancient Weaver entity intent on enforcing manners. The Nords interpret the creature as one of Loki’s children, a trick bound to go wrong, while the City States view him as a Satyroi seeking revenge for transgressions against his kind.
This release follows Para Bellum’s strategy of expanding the Conquest narrative through special events and limited runs, offering long-time fans something distinct from the core regimental units.
For those looking to reach the threshold to acquire the Krampus, stockists and the official store offer the full range of Starter Sets and character expansions.
