The Game Awards ecosystem continues to expand beyond the main ceremony, providing dedicated platforms for sectors of the industry often overshadowed by AAA marketing budgets. Today, organisers confirmed the return of both the Women-Led Games (WLG) and Latin American Games Showcase (LAGS) for a special broadcast event this December.

Scheduled to take place ahead of the primary awards ceremony, these showcases aim to highlight innovation from diverse development teams. Of particular interest to the Geek Native audience will be the Women-Led Games showcase, airing on Wednesday, December 10th at 4 PM PT (midnight, December 11th for UK viewers).
The showcase will be hosted by gaming influencers Aliya Will and Philip Hartshorn. While the full roster remains under wraps, the event has promised significant updates on several indie titles. Confirmed appearances include A Heavy Morning, the surreal Drywall Eating Simulator, Ledgerbound, and Wish Upon a Llama.
Perhaps most notably for fans of action RPGs, the showcase will feature Kristala. This dark fantasy ARPG, featuring anthropomorphic feline warriors, has been tracking well with the ‘Souls-like’ community and fits squarely within the interests of tabletop gamers looking for digital equivalents of their grimdark campaigns.
Beyond game trailers, the WLG broadcast will feature an exclusive deep-dive interview with Rebecca Ford. Currently the Creative Director at Warframe, Ford’s career trajectory, rising from Community Manager to leading the creative vision of one of the world’s most enduring free-to-play sci-fi epics, offers a significant case study in industry leadership.
Running in tandem with WLG is the Latin American Games Showcase. This segment promises release date announcements and exclusive reveals, specifically highlighting The Path into the Abyss and SKINWALKER.
Both showcases will be co-streamed across major gaming networks, including IGN and Gamespot, as well as the official TGA channels on YouTube and Twitch.
For those looking to expand their Steam libraries with titles from diverse teams, or perhaps upgrade their rig to handle the graphical demands of the latest Warframe updates, checking retailers like Green Man Gaming or Overclockers UK can often yield timely deals during the awards season.
The showcases take place on December 9th and 10th, 2025.
