Actors from the hugely popular roleplaying game Baldur’s Gate III and the free-to-play hit Genshin Impact are teaming up for a special live TTRPG stream in aid of charity. The one-night-only event, titled Overdue Exorcism, will take place on October 3rd to raise money for SpecialEffect as part of their One Special Day event.

The improvised, ghostly drama will be led by Game Master Natalie Winter, known for her work on LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. The cast of restless spirits features a lineup of prominent voice talent, including Dave Jones (Baldur’s Gate III), Kit Harrison (Genshin Impact), Billie Fulford-Brown (Clair Obscur: Expedition 33), and Kathryn Vinclair (Warhammer Soul Arena), with special guest cameos also promised.
Salix Games and the creative agency Liquid Crimson are producing Overdue Exorcism. The organisers promise a chaotic and interactive experience where the audience can directly influence the on-screen action. By reaching fundraising milestones, viewers will be able to trigger events that force the cast to perform with wild accents, break into musical interludes, or even swap characters entirely through “possession swaps.”
Furthermore, individual viewer donations can inflict what the team calls “viewer-triggered perks” on the players. These include a game of chilli-chocolate roulette, demands for a dance-off, or forcing an actor to read romantic or horror poetry directly to the camera while in character.
Jessica Saunders, CEO at Salix Games, said in a statement,
Let’s all just have some silly spooky fun, whilst doing something for a good cause. We all need a bit of joy in life right now, and this should bring smiles with a minor side of pearl clutching.”
Lauran Carter, Comms Director at Liquid Crimson, added,
We’re not here to play it safe – we’re here to summon ghosts, break rules and blow the doors off tabletop streaming. It’s theatre meets games meets rock show – and it’s all for SpecialEffect!”
All proceeds from the stream will go directly to SpecialEffect. This UK-based charity helps gamers with physical disabilities access video games through the use of modified or bespoke control setups, eye-tracking technology, and other innovations.
Confirming the charity’s support, Paige Harvey, Gaming Community Manager at SpecialEffect, noted,
We couldn’t be more thankful for everyone who has put their time into this incredible stream, and we can’t wait to see what shenanigans take place on 3rd October as part of One Special Day in support of our work! In our eyes, this event is already a natural 20!”
Overdue Exorcism will be broadcast live from 18:00 to 22:00 BST on Friday, 3rd October, exclusively on the SpecialEffect Twitch channel.
