Virtual tabletop platform Fantasy Grounds has launched a week-long sale on the official Star Trek Adventures roleplaying game. The promotion offers discounts across the range of digital books and accessories for the popular sci-fi RPG.
Modiphius Entertainment publishes Star Trek Adventures and uses a modified version of their proprietary 2d20 system. The game allows players to create their own Starfleet officers and explore the final frontier, taking on the roles of captains, engineers, scientists, and security personnel. The first edition of the game was released in 2017, with a brand new second edition having launched only last month at Gen Con in August.
Fantasy Grounds is one of the longest-running virtual tabletops in the digital RPG space, first appearing in 2004. The platform holds official licenses for many of the industry’s biggest games, including Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder. The company has recently signalled ambitious plans for its future, notably hiring former D&D Beyond founder Adam Bradford as its new Chief Development Officer. The move came shortly after the acquisition of Bradford’s most recent employer, Demiplane, by rival VTT Roll20.
The sale on Star Trek Adventures content will run for one week, providing an opportunity for digital GMs and players to acquire the core rulebooks and supplements at a reduced price.
