Scottish miniatures company Warbases is growing, and as proof, the family-owned business has bought its own headquarters.
The terrain and miniatures specialist, based near Dunfermline, was a sponsor of this year’s Tabletop Scotland convention. The company attended under the banner of Bifrost Miniatures by Warbases, an increasingly important fantasy brand for the firm.

Delegates at the Edinburgh event saw the launch of 24 new miniature packets. In the fresh wave of 28mm models, there were six new packs of Dwarfs and a substantial human contingent, with six packs of Human Nobles and another six of the Human City Watch. Warbases have also signalled that more Dwarfs are currently being sculpted.
The expansion isn’t just in their product line. For years, Warbases operated from a rented unit, but when their landlord announced plans to sell the property, the company was in a strong enough financial position to purchase the site themselves, securing their future and transitioning from tenants to owners.
This success seems to stem from a business model that follows the team’s creative instincts rather than a specific game system or setting. While Warbases is well-known for practical wargaming accessories like movement trays and terrain, the Bifrost Miniatures range is driven by what the designers think would be exciting to create and paint. The strategy is clearly working.
Previously, Geek Native reported on the exclusive Anata Dragonborn miniature that Bifrost gave away to the first 500 visitors to their stand at Tabletop Scotland. The sculpt, perfect for a Forgotten Realms campaign, is another example of the company’s knack for hitting the zeitgeist of the roleplaying and wargaming community.
For those wanting to see the new miniatures firsthand, the convention season is not over for Warbases. The company will be attending three more events this year:
- Partizan, a wargaming and history show in Newark.
- Warfare, which takes place in Farnborough.
- Battleground, held in Middlesbrough.
The growing range of Bifrost Miniatures can be explored on the official Warbases website.
