I noticed The Art & Making of Arcane over on Forbidden Planet when the hardcover was flagged “limited to 1 per customer”. That’s a great way to draw a blogger’s attention!

Written by Elisabeth Vincentelli and illustrated by sundry talent, the book also contains interviews with more than 20 staff at Riot Games.
Interesting, I think that’s the same Elisabeth Vincentelli who is a regular contributor to The New York Times’ Arts section, and a French-born journalist covering arts and culture in New York. According to Wikipedia, she was previously the chief drama critic for the New York Post between 2009 and 2016, having succeeded the late Clive Barnes in the role. If so; Arcane has some high art fans.
This comprehensive volume from the games publisher and Fortiche guides readers through the show’s stunning visual development. Inside, fans will find a treasure trove of artwork, including:
- Early concepts and evolving designs for favourite champions.
- Gorgeous, sprawling vistas of Piltover and Zaun.
- Detailed background art for the riveting inventions of hextech and Shimmer.
As you can see, Titan Books aren’t shy about showcasing some of the art.
