The ENNIE Award-winning tabletop RPG Punk is Dead is set to launch on the virtual tabletop Hedron, bringing its unique brand of musical rebellion to the indie-focused platform. The partnership sees Critical Kit Ltd.’s celebrated game of hope and rock’n’roll find a new digital home.

Punk is Dead, which picked up a Judges’ Spotlight Award at the 2025 ENNIES, is a roleplaying game set in a world on the brink of collapse. In the game, players don’t just fight monsters with swords and spells; they use their collective creativity to write songs, battling despair with music and bringing a spark of hope back to a bleak world.
The VTT partner, Hedron, may be familiar to some Geek Native readers under its previous name, Tabletop Mirror. As Geek Native reported, the platform rebranded after a successful BackerKit campaign raised over $51,000. The service also absorbed the play-by-chat community Role Gate, expanding its user base.
Hedron pitches itself as a platform built by and for the homebrew community. It offers a suite of tools designed to help Game Masters and players create their own experiences from the ground up. Key features include a code-free mechanics editor for designing unique TTRPGs, graphical map-making tools, and extensive campaign management resources. During play, it offers true-3D procedural battle grids, shareable and fully customisable character sheets, and tools for quick NPC generation.
The platform was started by GM and engineer Varun Singh as a personal tool for managing a world map, which eventually grew into the comprehensive system it is today. One of its key differentiators in a crowded VTT market is its focus on supporting bespoke game systems, a boon for creators who don’t want to be tied to the rule updates of larger, established publishers. For those looking to publish their creations, Hedron also includes a marketplace for indie designers to monetise their work.
The pairing of Punk is Dead‘s creative, music-focused gameplay with Hedron’s customisable, homebrew-centric toolkit seems like a natural fit for both companies.
Punk Is Dead will be available on the Hedron VTT starting July 29, 2025.
